Trick or Treat!!

This year was much more eventful than last year seeing as Payton can actually walk and somewhat understands the concept of trick or treating! We went downtown Cedar Falls to trick or treat and it worked out great! It was from 3:30 - 5:00 pm so we headed out after their naps and were able to get home in time to eat dinner and get ready for the trick or treaters. Most of the stores downtown had someone standing in front of their store passing out candy, so Payton didn't have to walk far to get all she needed. She loved seeing all the other kids dressed up in their costumes. She stopped right in front of one little guy, pointed at him and said, "what's that?" A couple times she would come up to Ryan or I and say, "cared, cared" because she was scared of some of the adult costumes.

Note to self: next year dress your children in gender specific costumes. Everyone thought Payton was a boy and Nolan was a girl!! I guess I just don't see it since I clearly know the gender of my children. Next year they will definitely be in specific male/female costumes. :)

Payton helped us pass out candy at our house from 6 - 8:00 pm. The first couple times we gave out candy she cried because she thought we were giving hers away. Once we showed her the pail of her candy on the counter, she was fine and actually enjoyed handing it out. Happy Halloween!

First stop downtown was at Aunt Jill's office where she ate her first piece of candy
