This Summer we were able to take quite a few trips, mostly to visit family. The second weekend in June we all packed up and headed East to Chicago to spend the weekend with the Woodin's. Ryan's parents, Holly, Anthony & Hudson all went too, so it was a full house! We got to see Connor's kindergarten graduation & baseball game and the kids AND the adults got to enjoy their bounce house. It was a great weekend!!

The following weekend we went to Colorado to see our new niece, Everly Kate! (separate post for that) We drove through the night and the kids did fairly well. We woke them up at 9pm to leave, hoping they would fall right back asleep in the car. That didn't quite go as planned, Payton stared out the window until 1am! Once they fell asleep though they did really well. We enjoyed a great weekend with my brother and his family and then once again drove through the night to get home. I'm hoping the kids get used to this travelling!

July 4th weekend we went to my uncle's cabin at Lost Island Lake. We enjoyed a lot of food, swimming and boating. We always look forward to our annual weekend at the cabin!
The end of July we headed back to Chicago to visit the Woodin's again, this time just us and the kids. We took the kids to the zoo Saturday morning and Payton loved it. Saturday night the adults went to an Irish Fest and enjoyed an evening without the kids. Sunday we headed back home, with Connor & Taylor so they could spend a week in Waverly. Payton loves spending time with Connor and Taylor. She idolizes Taylor and does absolutely everything she does. At least once a day she pretends she's going to Chicago. :)
A couple weeks ago we went to Iowa City to go out on Holly & Anthony's boat. Greg & Connor tubed and Anthony showed us how to surf. Payton and Nolan enjoyed riding in the boat and taking in the scenery. Payton was tired from the weekend and actually fell asleep for about an hour. It was a lot of fun and something different for the kids to enjoy!
It was a fun summer of travelling. We had a great time visiting our family and getting the kids used to the open road. :)
