Home again, home again

Vacation was great, but it is so nice to be home again. Payton did so well travelling, despite the lack of naps and all of the running around. On the way to St Thomas she even got her own seat since the plane wasn’t completely full. I was hoping for that on the way home too, but we didn’t get so lucky. We did get her to sleep on the plane, but had to hold her while she slept. I enjoyed every minute of this. Usually when she goes down for a nap we put her in her crib awake and she soothes herself to sleep so I never get a chance to rock her to sleep or hold her while she’s sleeping. There’s something very calming and peaceful about holding a sleeping baby.

We had good weather, besides a couple days of clouds and rain. We hit up a couple beaches and also spent time at the pool. Ryan’s sister gave us a raft for Payton, which was the best thing we could have had. Payton isn’t one that likes to be held much and would rather be on her own, so this gave her the freedom she loves. One time I thought she was going to fall asleep in it!

We also spent one day at St John’s, went snorkeling, and did a little shopping. At one beach we had a sting ray swim right up to us. I was out of the water in a matter of seconds. We had a great time and hope to go back someday when Payton will actually remember being there and will be able to appreciate how beautiful it is.

Here we go!!

Just relaxing, enjoying the waves
